RECORDS OF SURVEY
The preparation and filing of a Record of Survey Map (ROS) is done so pursuant to the regulations imposed upon the Professional Land Surveyor pursuant to the Professional Land Surveyor’s Act. The use of the ROS is either permissive or mandatory depending on the circumstances surrounding the survey. Generally a ROS is filed whenever a metes and bounds survey is being retraced. It can also be used to document other facets of real property. Its use is mandatory when the Land Surveyor uncovers material evidence or conflicts within the record that warrant a disclosure.
